Today, in briefness:

Math tutoring. Running into someone and hanging out with her, possibly for longer than ever before on our own. Noting that I should probably remember International Foods as a source of fast Mideast food. Finally calling various people. Finally writing various people. Gaming which didn't happen, but had making fun of Otherkin instead. Giving a truffle to someone who needed it, what with dead rats and a missed birthday. Contra-dancing which was actually really fun, with good ratios and neat new people. Watching Avatar. Finding that LJ seems to finally have thread-watching features ("notifications").

Previous days in brief:
Improvising new Lindy Hop combos with swing-Christine. A tuna steak breakfast. Finishing "Now and Then, Here and There". Japanese study group, where I learned some stuff but also got to correct some of the kanas of a second-year student. Making cold-brewed coffee. Grading. Finally holding office hours. More grading.

Victory's just around the corner, right?

US military spokesman says murders and executions are the leading cause of death in Baghdad. Actually I have trouble believing things are *that* bad -- more people being killed than dying of old age?

My First Japanese Sentence

It might even be correct. Transliteration:

Ruuku, watashi ga anata no otousan desu.

Yeah, I'm a geek. It was prompted by the study group leader showing us his katakana for "lightsaber". I'm not sure if otousan should have the 'u', or be 'chichi' instead in this usage, or if 'anata no' is the best way of saying 'your'. Or if it'd have the same emotional impact as the original.
