Technology's out to isolate me

I talk on my cell phone (Cingular, Nokia, Pay as you Go plan) for a while, then break off to meet anima for lunch, where she mentions having called to say she might not make it, though fortunately she did. But my phone has no message from her, nor trace of her calling. And I'd called her just yesterday, so presumably she could just return the call, with not chance for a wrong number.

*twitch* Have I missed other messages or calls from people? Probably not, given how few I ever get anyway. But still...

I am pleased to note that my decision 1.5 years ago to refer to her, in conversation with friends and family who don't meet her, as "Latin-major", continues to pay off on all fronts. That anchors people's memories in a way which real names, espcially common ones, don't. "Who are you talking about?" "Latin-major." "Oh, right, I remember."

Good Ars Magica game tonight. My grog didn't have much to do but hey, that's grogdom while the magi do the important work. Especially if I keep playing sane grogs, unlike the one muttering about demons all the time. I should go write character journals soon, though I've been resisting because I'm half the posts on our LJ already.
