No rye, no lie!
2006-08-25 18:30I went to Bloomingfood's for bread and was told City Bakery has relocated near Bear's and shrunk to a pastry operation. No more of their rye bread! Waah!
In my previous post Anon had suggest Bruno's Bakery, "carried by Bloomingfoods". I guess carried by the Eastside, not downtown, because I've never seen it. I got Spring Mill sourdough, and my initial reaction is "enh", though possibly herby cheese spread and salmon aren't the best things for it.
Maybe it's time to bake bread again. Gah, don't want to think about washing the bread machine.
UPDATE: I've had more sourdough, and realize it's more dough than sour. At 2 pounds for $3.49 the price is half-decent, so I might try other breads of the brand.
