Back after a decade! I, uh, keep forgetting how many times I've been to Boston before. Once in like January 2001 or so, along with NYC. Spring break 2008 for fanw. At least once in between, also for fanw.

Big library, two connect buildings. Feels smaller on the inside, lots of rooms, some empty, and the collections are like a couple of floors, with multimedia seeming particularly small for a big city central library. Smaller than Bloomington, say. Of course the total collection is distributed through the system, but still.

There's a changing exhibition room, currently on the Civil War, lots of maps and such, looked pretty interesting.

I got a card, they even re-use my Cambridge card, so no extra physical burden.

Fiction is one big lump, no genre split. By the catalog, YA *is* split, with a YA SF section at least, though I didn't make it to YA.

Anime seems split randomly among DVDs, foreign language DVDs, and J(uvenile) DVDs.

Some nice architecture; there's even a pamphlet. Must investigate further.

Uses Library of Congress, unlike the Dewey of Cambridge.

Red Line seems creaky, kept pausing. And taking the Green Line out at 17:30, well. Rather crowded. Packed, even. Though given my packing companions, could have been worse.

One of my IRC channels talks about bitcoins every day. The other talks about Oz novels.

Doctor Who, pretty wacky cliffhangers, eh?
