'Six percent of the individuals surveyed said they considered themselves
vegetarian. But when asked by the pollsters what they had eaten in the
last 24 hours, 60% of the self-described "vegetarians" admitted that
that had consumed red meat, poultry or fish the previous day.'

three times as many American adults admit to being "ex-vegetarians" than
describe themselves as current vegetarians. This suggests that roughly
75% of people who quit eating meat eventually change their minds

With the plurality of defections being for health reasons like anemia or just feeling crappy.

As described here: http://mindstalk.dreamwidth.org/314765.html
My pace hasn't been profound, but I have continued, reading King John and starting Titus Andronicus. With a break for re-reading Paladin of Souls.

Reading plays was always kind of bland for me, due to monotony of voice, which novels don't seem to suffer from for some reason, maybe because characters are often visually described so have some sort of implicit appearance. I guess I could try making up appearance for play characters, but what I've been doing instead is casting people I know as the roles, mostly so that I could apply their different voices and thus have differentiation in my head. Mostly I've cast Gamer Guild and Doctor Who friends, and [livejournal.com profile] fanw, as the people whose voices I know the best or most recently. Sometimes the castings work well, or play off real relationships, other times they're just a voice. But it does seem to help.

Haven't cast Titus yet. Kind of just started, but also have felt less need so far.
