Don't remember where I got this New Yorker article from, it's been sitting my browser tabs for a while. On how simple checklists can cut line infection rates in intensive care units to nearly zero, and other benefits.

I keep thinking "hmm, need more expert systems", though it's valid to say "just need more training, and to treat care delivery as a science, like the other parts of medicine."

The author, a doctor named Atul Gawande, has a lot of articles on his website. I'm reading the Bell Curve right now.
