A la The Jungle:
I've been eating grass-fed beef for a few years now, given the alleged health benefits and the availability in my farmer's market. I've mentioned Pollan's book on what corn does to the cows. Another reference is http://www.eatwild.com which has lots of the benefits of grass-fed meet and dairy and the harm of grain-fed... and links to research articles on various feeds other than grain. Such as bubblegum (still in the tinfoil wrapper), phone books, pot scrubbers, and for chickens, arsenic which gets out into the environment.
Plus stuff on the health risks to workers of agribusiness farming, and possible greenhouse benefits of grass-fed beef (the cows actually release more methane themselves, but the grassroots sequester carbon, vs. corn being fed by fossil fuel fertilizers.)
