The Canadian Dream,
2008-07-19 14:00MacLean's on How Canada Stole the American Dream
Canadians live longer (old news), are wealthier (less debt, and that's in 2005), are earning as much (very interesting new news: US still leads in mean household income, but they claim median income in 2005 was nearly equal -- US$44,000 to $46,000, and that's working 35 hours a week to our 38, and with more vacation time)
OTOH the creator of the Stuff White People Like website is quoted as saying "everyone in LA seems to carry a gun" -- eh what?
And I still can't find any general comparison of median household incomes. Closest is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Median_household_income which looks like an editor did the work themself. Technically Original Research but I'm not complaining. Unfortunately it doesn't give exchange rate numbers, only PPP, which are useful but not the whole story.
