Bombay House has $5.99 lunch buffet now, a big drop from the $11 during the school year. Despite the tandoori chicken last time having no actual tandoori flavor, I went back. My first impression was that the chicken was still pretty bland. This impression is pretty vague, because it was quickly swamped by the smell of chicken I would throw away rather than cooking. Mild, but present. I told the waiter, he said the chef said it was fine, I was offered another piece, which still smelled bad. I pigged out on vegetarian dishes and left. I swallowed a piece before the taste and smell really hit me; if I get sick in the next couple of days, I know where I'm placing the blame.

Bloomington Transit (the buses) had resisted taking an atheist ad, but has capitulated before a court case.

Yeah, much to my dismay, Bombay house really went down the drain quality wise it seems. I was there once or twice during the semester, but honestly their food was better and more impressive back in the days when it was 8$.

Yeah, Bombay hasn't been very god in a long, long time.

Short story!
I was served rancid pork Katsudon at Sushi Bar, sent it back and had the chef come out to scream at me. I haven't gone their since.

Huh. We all liked our food there last night.

I've been to Bombay House recently for dinner, with the science fiction group, and it's been decent, though most of the chicken dishes suffer a "sauce and flavor does not penetrate the giant lump of breast protein" problem, so mostly I get lamb.

Here's the longer version, for clarity. This happened in June or so of last summer.

I got the katsudon and was surprised when it came with two cutlets because it usually only has one. It smelled a bit off, but I'm oversensitive so I cut off a tiny piece. It was absolutely rancid, and at the same time my friend across the table was remarking,"I think there's something wrong with your meat." It was so bad other people could notice the smell.

I send it back after telling the waitress that at least one piece of the meat was bad.

A few minutes later the cook comes out yelling about how he just got that meat in and had a tasted and it was fine. Lightbulb goes off in my head! Meat just came in? Two pieces instead of one? I think I was given a leftover from the old supply and a new piece.

I asked if he tasted the portion I had eaten from (which I didn't really expect.) and he refused a straight answer. He told me it was fine, he had a bite, it was perfectly good. It's likely the other piece was fine and the first was just a leftover. I asked this point blank and he got even angrier. He told me he would not make me a new meal because I wouldn't like it either and stormed off.

The waitress didn't even ask me if I wanted anything else and none of us have gone back since.
