So yeah, I was exploring settings, and I stumbled onto this here:

There's even a version for using PGP/GPG signing as authentication,
rather than a cleartext PIN.

I hadn't explored those settings in a super long time, and WOW NEAT that I can use my PGP/GPG signature as authentication for email! Thanks for finding and sharing that!
