Date: 2007-04-04 21:34 (UTC)From:Freshman year in high school, I was sick but going to class anyway. I got some Sprite or 7-Up from the vending machines to sip through class, and was surprised at how nice it was. Hydration, but maybe also the carbonation breaking up gunk. Over the next few days I kept doing this, and as I got better the drink got less and less attractive; when I was healthy again I didn't want it at all.
No, I don't usually drink soft drinks. :)

Date: 2007-04-03 20:18 (UTC)From:Taken from Wikipedia: "There are several commercially available products but an inexpensive home-made solution consists of 8 level teaspoons of sugar and 1 level teaspoon of table salt mixed in 1 liter of water (Rehydration Project: Home made recipe). ... A half cup of orange juice or half of a mashed banana can be added to each liter both to add potassium and to improve taste."
