Sunshine reading thread
2012-10-12 23:21Over on RPG.net people sometimes have "Where I Watch" or "Read" threads about series or books. A couple years ago I started one on Robin McKinley's _Sunshine_, stopped, but now I've resumed it here. Some people go for great amusingness or insight or such; I'm going mostly for a fine reading of the text, and calling out interesting details in the light of one comes later, since I've read the book several times.
If you haven't read the book the thread probably won't be that interesting, and also massive spoilers. If you have, you might be struck by little observations.
We'll see if I finish; I'm up to page 51 out of 405... last time I stopped at page 27. A bit of that was because I started in Chile in 2010, and there were Distractions like kids and games and Christmas. Oh, and then I moved to Boston, and had been using S.'s book, and didn't get mine until at least a few months later. Okay, I guess that explains a lot of it...
