* Watched Daily Show and Colbert Tuesday. Highlights: a compare-and-contrast of Bush and Obama, making the point that a lot of rhetoric is actually pretty similar; and a brief interview with Gene Robinson.
Stewart: "What was it like moving through the crowds, handicapped, since bishops can only move diagonally?"
Robinson: "You forget Jon, there was a queen on the board as well."
* Ads for Coraline movie looked good. Not sure I ever read the book.
* Japanese students studying Martin Luther King
* Nice to see an anti-war conservative who disliked Bush.
* "Like a plague of boils, the race of man covered the Earth" (Name that reference!)
* Medicine in the ancient world. Makes a point that the Church forbade the use of cadavers for scientific dissection, setting back medicine in Christendom for 1000 years. Thank god for the Muslims.
* LA vs. billboards. And... building wraps?
* Obama pushes for more openness in government. It's like we're supposed to have a government that serves us, rather than being a secretive power conspiracy. No doubt this is helping the terrorists somehow.
* The Village Voice did an article on Otherkin, way back in 2001. Relatedly, I note that RPG.net Tangency reactions seem less caustic and mocking than they were in 2004, part of the general mellowing of the site.
* Get your executive orders!
* What was wrong with Bush (via
catsidhe) and a list of scandals. Even liberals might not agree with everything but it still makes a handy reference for the wingnuts accusing you of Bush Derangement Syndrome.
